Story, Symbol and the Sacred
This section goes down into the symbolic depth of things. It’s where myths, scriptures, cultural narratives and the imaginal field live – all the places where meaning arrives as story, image and ritual rather than argument. These essays take seriously the fact that religion, tradition and symbol still matter, even if many of us can no longer simply go back to how they were handed to us.
You’ll find explorations of how stories organise whole societies, how sacred texts can be read imaginally rather than literally or dismissed, and how the “sacred” shows up in a world that doesn’t quite trust that word any more. If you feel caught between flat scepticism and naive belief, this is the doorway that lets you stay with that tension and see what else might be going on.
