This essay is part four of a series on the Book of Revelation and reads the text as resistance literature against Rome, exposing empire as a seductive but predatory system of power, propaganda and exploitation. It then traces the same patterns in today’s forms of empire, from surveillance capitalism to state–corporate fusion and the modern “rules-based order”.
